It's the Weekly What? for Friday, February 8th
Punishment and rewardWe'll apologize in advance for starting out this newsletter by showing you an office space (really big space!) that you'll never, ever attain. But we'll soften the blow with a super-easy cookie recipe: cook one up and eat it hunched over your keyboard in your little cubicle. Oh wait! We just gave away the whole newsletter! Great, now there's no reason for you to continue reading. Oh well, at least stop by our Facebook page and answer this week's question! So where do you work?We're talking about your workspace in particular. Do you have an office? A Cuborg-2000 Worker Isolation Unit? Corner office right next to the executive washroom? Well, to the cube dwellers among you we say "take heart!" because ain't nobody going to top Richard Branson's "beach office" on his own private island. So take that suits! Also: "Mai Tai Events"?! Sign us up! >> Time for a pick-me-up...Fancy office stories tend to get us down. Here we are, stuck in a veritable dungeon with nothing but rancid coffee and stale donuts to sustain us. The flickering fluorescent overhead is threatening to drive us crazy. So reading about working on the beach doesn't really do anything for our mood. At times like these we need a cookie (or three). 5-minute cookie-in-a-mug to the rescue! Nom nom! That tastes like another! >> How are we doing? Got a hot news tip? Something to share? Click here to drop us a line! Are you an old-school photography snob?Hey, that's fine with us! We love the convenience of the camera in our phone, but we're getting mighty tired of all the vertically framed snapshots! So there's our snob-cred. Anyway, check out this interesting photo app for the iPhone called "Thirty Six." In a nutshell it replicates the black-and-white film camera experience: you must take 36 photos and "develop" them before you get to see any of them! Supposedly the goal is to restore a more thoughtful and deliberate approach to photography with a smartphone. At least there's no processing fees! >> We love tacos. Do you love tacos? You'll love taco cupcakes!So about tacos...we loves us the little tacos. We've mentioned elsewhere that they're one of our major food groups (tacos, pizza, chocolate, caffeine).
