It's the Weekly What? for Friday, January 25th

We're back with a new and improved* newsletter!

We apologize for last week's train-wreck of a newsletter. What can we say: if you really want to mess up you need a computer to do the job properly! Hopefully none of you were terribly disappointed in the mess that finally found its way to your inbox. Okay, so we're willing to put all that drama behind us if you are. And if you don't know what we're going on about... that's good too! So, once you get back from a coffee-n-donuts pit-stop, why don't you visit our Facebook page and answer this week's question? "What celebrity have you been mistaken for?"

Announcing a breakthrough in banana handling technology!

Seriously, we can't count the number of times we've just skipped eating a banana altogether because the simple task of cutting was just too onerous. And the Writing Room Monkeys? Just imagine snack time and fumbling with a butter-knife while being mobbed by a nearly infinite number of simians! Hutzler 571 to the rescue. >>

Tip: Make sure you scroll down and read the reviews!

Additional kitchen fun: Pixel Mitts!

If we had a set of these in the kitchen, we'd never leave! Cookies, cupcakes, cookies, casseroles, cookies; any excuse to be sticking our pixelated hands into the oven! Point, click, bake! >>

Time for a nap? Here's an interesting article about branded content!

Wait, what's "branded content" you say? Well, think RedBull and all the crazy sports stuff they do (and that space-jump thing Felix Baumgartner did). That's one prime example of branded content. It's all about flying higher than anyone else. But on a more down-to-earth level, what does it mean to you? Do you have a blog connected to your business? Where does the content come from? The more original and focused on your brand message you can be, the better. You'll retain (or grow) your authority when your content has value beyond simply repeating someone else's stuff. That wasn't so boring, was it? >>

Digital image forensics 101

We know you've see the crazy photos of seemingly impossible things floating around Facebook from time-to-time. Sometimes they're obviously fake (cat face in gathering stormclouds), but what about the the photos that just look so real? After hurricane Sandy there were a bunch of "sharks in the city" photos making the rounds: Sharks plying their deadly craft in flooded streets and building lobbies. Here's a fun look at how a couple of these images were debunked. Look out, Snopes! >>

Who needs a vacation? Just bring the beach to your workstation!

Our immediate reaction upon seeing the image of artist Justin Kemp sitting in his giant...sandbox...was a cringe. Because we have an Office Cat. It's a fun idea, but we can only imagine the nightmare of wiggling our toes in the sand and discovering a "foreign object." How does he keep sand from getting everywhere? >>

Let your phone manage your time!

And by "manage" we don't mean how much time you spend playing "Peggle" or something. We're talking about actual productive time-management. Here's a round-up of four reminder apps that will keep you on task and away from productivity sinkholes. (Yes, Facebook on your phone counts as Facebook time, so stop it.) Remember: you can only spend time, not save it! >>

*In that this newsletter was sent out on time!

The Weekly What? is more fun when you share! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below... keep going... a little farther down... there it is! Send this newsletter to a friend! Don't worry, we won't hit them up for money.
