It's the Weekly What? for Friday, January 18th
It's the "Weekly What? ZERO" edition!
So, after watching a documentary on the evils of high fructose corn syrup and its link to obesity, we thought, as a public service, we'd create a "low calorie" version of the Weekly What? newsletter and see how it goes down. Y'know, since this is all just sugary fluff it can't be good for you. Makes your brain fat and kills off the neurons! So before you savor the "same great taste, with zero empty literary calories" edition of the newsletter, won't you please visit our Facebook page and answer this week's question? "What's your' favorite snack?"
You know that technology is awesome when dogs use it!
This is probably why Skype was invented: dogs don't have thumbs but still need to communicate with distant friends. Video chat...er, barking! Really, when future archaeologists remove the following video from some fossilized hard drive, they'll discover just how enlightened we were (for being so primitive). "Ah, they allowed their companion animals to communicate via tedious internet protocols! Fascinating! And generous!" Awoooo-ooo! >>
Winner of the "Best use of 35 years of your life" category:
It's toothpick artist Scott Weaver! Seriously though, all snark aside, this is an amazing sculpture! And we're sure the guy must have done some other stuff during those 35 years. Like work. Get married. Maybe have kids. (Which would explain the 35 years a bit.) Make sure you watch the video! >>

"Orchestrated text"
Okay, this is pretty cool. Better than the Skype dogs thing. (In that it makes us feel a smidge smarter...and not just because we have opposable thumbs.) Click the play button and you're treated to some Vivaldi (Four Seasons, Winter, to be exact.) As the music plays, text will appear on the screen. Notes that will offer you some insight into the piece's tone, imagery, and inspiration. I say old chap! Jolly good show! >>
Time management: It's not just for management
Since this was apparently one of the least popular posts on our Facebook page this week, we figure this must mean that many of you must have some latent guilt regarding your performance at work. Or lack thereof. (Oooo! Throwdown!) Turn that in-box into your out-box in just five minutes! >>
Goodness know we could benefit from some time management skills, hence this abbreviated edition of the newsletter! Please don't hate us, we're only human. All that stuff in the intro about brain cells being killed by literary fluff was just us trying to cover up for our having almost completely forgotten about the newsletter this week! Also: We totally topped our Angry Birds score today!
The Weekly What? is more fun when you share! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below... keep going... a little farther down... there it is! Send this newsletter to a friend! Don't worry, we won't hit them up for money.
