It's the Weekly What? for Friday, December 21st
Good to see that you're all still here!
A few eagle-eyed readers pointed out that last week's newsletter had the date wrong in the headline. We have to confess that it was a pathetic attempt to stave off the end of the world. One doesn't just simply turn back the calendar pages! Anyway, it was all much ado about nothing, unless, of course, the world is ending around you even as you read this edition of the Weekly What? If that's the case we thank you for being such a dedicated reader! So, before the continents sink into the seas, please take just a moment to stop by our Facebook page to answer this week's question! "What are your plans for the end of the world?"
We present a special holiday food 'n' craft roundup!
To start you off, we've found a fabulous Milky Way Salted Caramel Cookie recipe. That's right, toss your diet right out the window! While those are in the oven, download and print out these nifty templates for making little "take out" style gift boxes! They'll be perfect for packing the cookies in! (Make sure you save a few for yourself! For quality assurance, right?) In case you "quality test" a few too many cookies, here's a great idea for a cupcake bouquet. Essentially a bunch of cupcakes-on-a-stick. And everything tastes better on a stick! Once you've got all that taken care of, go raid your kids' LEGO and put together a candy dispenser/gumball machine. Finally, here's a recipe for some cute little "3D" cookie Christmas trees. No, the cookies aren't 3D...well, they are, but not like that...anyway, you just stack 'em up so they... oh, just go check it out!
Last Minute Christmas Gift! "Floam!"
No present will scream "I'm winging it at the last moment!" like a gift of home-made "floam" in a gallon zip baggie. But won't the recipient be pleasantly surprised? And won't you have fun making it? F-U-N spells "floam"! >>

How do snowflakes get their shape?
They're like magnets or something: Snowflakes just seem to happen, have unique shapes, and look amazingly pretty. Nobody knows how they work. Until now. Turns out the secret is something called "chemistry." Whatever. It's elves or fairies or something >>
How does Santa keep his "naughty and nice" list properly organized? Metadata.
Learn all about the importance of metadata through this fascinating look at the structure of Santa's list. After a few years, we're sure all that personal data must really add up! Kind of makes us wonder about the security of our "naughty/nice" information and raises some concerns about privacy! For instance, what if some identity thieves hacked into Santa's database and published some naughty/nice history on the web? It would be an event to eclipse "Watergate"! >>
After today the days will start to get longer! Yay! Spring is almost here!
Superfan Matt B. thought he'd try boring you all to death with facts and figures relating to the winter solstice (AKA Mayan Doomsday). You can trace the lengthening days and look forward to a few more seconds of "day" each day. Hey whatever, pass the cookies. (Seriously though Superfan Matt B. we're just giving you a hard time! Thanks for sending this in!)
Bok bok ba bok!
B-bok! Bok bok! "Joy to the world!" >>
The Weekly What? is more fun when you share! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below... keep going... a little farther down... there it is! Send this newsletter to a friend! Don't worry, we won't hit them up for money.
