It's the Weekly What? for Friday, December 7th
With a name like that it must be Italian...
First we'd like to apologize for any clashing pop-culture references in this newsletter. It happens from time to time, but we fear this edition of the newsletter may well demonstrate such a collision on a "big-ship-in-an-iceberg-field" magnitude. You won't be able to look away and there'll be nothing left but wreckage and a feeling of having wasted just a little bit of your life. Before you get started, take just a couple of minutes and visit our Facebook page to answer this week's question? "Which do you prefer: wrapping paper or gift bags?"
Fun DIY Advent calendars!
If you've never had an Advent calendar you've missed out, big time. Nothing makes the month zip by like getting to open up a little window/door/pocket/whatever every day. So yeah, the first week is behind us already but that shouldn't stop you! Here's a round up of some fantastic (and fantastically easy) make-em-yourself Advent calendars. You should be able to catch up this weekend pretty easily! So what are you waiting for? Go get started!
25 free fonts for Christmas/winter/holiday use.
Here's a great selection of fonts that are just the thing to type up "A Major Award" certificates or maybe a holiday greeting to friends and family. Or maybe retype your passive-aggressive note on the break room fridge so it's "holidays compliant." Notes about egg salad sandwich theft and questionable morals will look so much more festive set in "Candy Cane" or "Noel." Free fonts? Winning! >>
Video how-to for a little holiday "eticat"
Mr. Fancypants Derek Blasberg covers the important points for your holiday social outings and shows you how to be a "Classy Cat" and not a "Messy Kitty. Go easy on the milk, huh? >>

We pause to bring you this seriously awesome Boba Fett themed skirt
What are you waiting for? Go look!! (The maker of the skirt also produces other really cool themed skirts: Astronaut on the moon, Pokemon, R2-D2, Star Trek, and more! It's Boba Fett. You either get it or you don't. >>
Make your own glittery ornaments!
This is a great example of the kinds of DIY's that we love: cheap, easy, looks good, easy to modify. It's like the perfect storm of craftiness! Some glass globe ornaments, some glitter, and some...Pledge Floor Cleaner. (That last ingredient is a bit of a mystery to us.) Just make sure that your tree is awesome enough for the awesome ornaments that you're going to make. You don't want one of those trees where all the needles fall off or one of those plastic trees that looks like it's made out of green pipe cleaners. Get busy! >>
This article will redeem the whole newsletter. Maybe.
Here's a good read with fourteen tips for running good meetings. Tips you can easily use before your next meeting, even if it's only thirty minutes away! We'd like to add our own tip: Hold meetings in jolly nice indie cafes that have good treats. We've found that this way meetings are way more enjoyable and easily last until 45 minutes before you have to clock out and then you don't really feel like getting started on anything serious anyway so POW! there's the day! Get ready for the best meetings ever! >>
English to Yoda translator.
Weekly What? Superfan Kim H. (We don't want to reveal her full name and risk exposing her to possible ridicule for reading the Weekly What?) tipped us off to the "Yoda-Speak Generator." Unfortunately we could classify it as a serious productivity sinkhole. Half the Writing Room Monkeys are busy translating all sorts of inane phrases having to do with bananas and most of the other half are busy listening. So if the quality of this edition of the newsletter has suffered at all you know who to blame! Anyway... Have fun typing in stuff to share with your cubemates, you will! *Hurm!* (Sorry.. couldn't help it.) This Force is strong with this one... >>
Hey, so we survived the newsletter after all! This thing just about writes itself so we can never be too sure in what direction it might take off. We were worried that there might be some awful mash-up of Leg Lamp jokes and Yoda-Speak.
The Weekly What? is more fun when you share! It's easy, just click the "Forward email" link below... keep going... a little farther down... there it is! Send this newsletter to a friend! Don't worry, we won't hit them up for money.
