Riverstone International School
June 2, 2016
|

Hi All, No matter how I prepare, the last month of school always seems to be a blur! It has been a delight to celebrate our students and their milestones. In so many ways, this has been a transformational year.
This week, we received official notice from the Malone Family Foundation that we have been officially "selected as a recipient of a $2 million endowment.... Riverstone is to receive the first installment ($1 million) in June of 2016 and the second $1 million upon receipt of the remaining contributions that are already pledged." This generosity on the part of the Malone Foundation was made possible by our community making our endowment campaign a success. Thanks to Kurt and Treacy Liebich for leading this campaign and thank you all for your support and participation. In many ways, this is a before and after moment in the history of the school.
I will do a more complete recap of the year next Thursday. In that newsletter, we will include a link to our yearly parent survey. We ask that you take a few moments over the course of the next few weeks to reflect on your experience at Riverstone this year.
Enjoy the start of summer!

We have additional news of a staffing change for the upcoming school year.
Tami Dougherty is leaving Riverstone in order to complete a Graduate Certificate in Mathematical Thinking for Instruction at Boise State University; a first step toward earning her doctoral degree in Mathematics Instruction. Tami will miss the wonderful partnerships she has had with her students and the Riverstone staff. We appreciate all her efforts in developing the Middle and High School mathematics program at Riverstone and wish her the best of luck in the future.

Even though school is out for the summer, we are still open from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM Monday through Friday to give tours to prospective families, answer questions, and help however we can.
We always appreciate referrals, so please feel free to let friends or family know that we are still accepting applications and would be happy to talk to them about enrolling at Riverstone.
Please encourage friends or family to contact Rachel Pusch or Sarah Taylor.
|
Don't leave for summer without completing your student's enrollment! 19% of our currently enrolled families still have forms left to complete. After you signed the contract this Spring, did you remember to complete the additional enrollment forms (Student Health, Emergency contacts, Field trip permission, etc)? Have you logged into SchoolAdmin to check?
It is critically important to complete these forms as soon as possible. Working with the most up-to-date information makes a world of difference and we certainly appreciate your help.
Log into SchoolAdmin here to check your student's status and complete any remaining forms. Please email Sarah Taylor with any questions.
Forms are due ASAP!
