Hello and Welcome!

We are excited to welcome you and your student(s) into our wonderful community. Great stories of outdoor adventure, exciting conversations over new classroom topics and ideas, and great down-home entertainment from our Variety Show and All-School Pizza Party are just a few of the things that await you!

I know that each family makes an investment to ensure their child receives the best education available. I thank you for making Riverstone your choice - our staff never takes that choice for granted and we work hard to provide a world-class education that meets the needs of students in a quickly changing world.

Over the first few months of school, please stop by and say hello. I will be glad to chat with you on any topic of interest as it relates to the school or education. I am very proud to have served Riverstone in many capacities over the last 14 years and to have watched both of my children flourish here. This year, my youngest is graduating as part of the Class of 2016; we are grateful to know that she is well-prepared for the next step in her journey.

Like we ask of our students, we would love for you to get involved, seek out teachers and administrators with questions, and ask for help when you need it. We anticipate holding a summer gathering (or two) at local parks during the summer; please watch for information and join us.

We will be adding you to our weekly school newsletter distribution and hope that you can join us at any event listed that is of interest to you. It is important that you read the weekly newsletter for updates on all of the many activities and options here at school - you will be surprised at all of the moving parts in this amazing place. The newsletter, resources page on the website, and our social media channels are places that we showcase what our students and alumni are accomplishing both at Riverstone and the world at large.

Our Parent Handbook will be updated this summer but the information in the current version will be helpful for you. We are here for you and will do our best to make your transition a smooth one.

Please consider getting involved in our Parents' Association (PA) as it is a wonderful way to quickly become part of the fabric of our school. The PA is integral in planning and putting on several of events that unite our community in ways that are always fun for the whole family. They are ready to welcome you!

I think you will find that Riverstone International School is a great place that provides an amazing education based upon our mission of "inspiring courageous academic and personal explorations that enable our students to lead purposeful lives;" we wish the same for our parents as well!

 

 

 

 

A fun way to get back into the groove of school after a summer holiday is through our Summer Camps!

Camps will take place the week of Monday, Aug 8 - Friday, Aug 12, with half and full day options. 

You may download Riverstone summer camp information here. Our Summer Camps are all taught by Riverstone staff. Campers will meet other students, make friends, and get to know our incredible staff!

Outdoor activities, holidays, and other events can be found on Riverstone's school calendar on our website.

The first day of school is Monday, August 29 with an 8:20 AM start for Gr 6-12 and 8:30 AM start for Preschool - Gr 5.

Plan extra time on the first day to join us for our traditional start of school Convocation from 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM followed by a chance to meet other parents at the Parents' Association "Boo-Hoo Yahoo Coffee."

We find it useful to use the "agenda" view. Please click on the small arrow to the top right of the calendar to make sure that all the calendars that you are interested in are able to be viewed.

Please note that there are separate calendars (with unique color coding) for all-school events, outdoor program activities, and athletics. By clicking on the small arrow to the right of the calendar, you can ensure you are seeing all the calendars you are interested in.
