 Hi All,
A short note of thanks to all of you who contributed to this year's Annual Fund. I want to especially thank Deborah and Kipp Martell and their team of ambassadors for all of their hard work on our students' behalf. Each year we try to run a low-key, short Annual Fund campaign to better allow our community to keep the focus on our students. It is with great gratitude that I can say once again we were able to do that. Over the past five weeks, our community contributed $193,693 with a 91% participation rate. Your gifts will be used this year to enhance our programs and to find more opportunities to say "yes."
I wish your family a peaceful Thanksgiving and I hope that you can relax and enjoy your time together. Please know that the generosity of our community is something that I will be celebrating.

 True to the Riverstone spirit, our team has created another unique and beautiful entry for this year's Festival of Trees. We'd love to invite anyone to check out our "Totally Tubular" tree at the Boise Centre between Wednesday, Nov 25 - Sunday, Nov 29. This year's entry is made of recycled PVC pipes and ornaments. The photo at right gives you a look at the finished tree thanks to the hard work of team leaders, Michelle N and Kim L, as well as their helper elves Lisa A, Amy B, Beth B, Janice C-W, Theresa E, Kim F, Kathleen G, Natalie G, Treacy L, Kelly M, Jill P, and Heather W. A warm thank you to students Ella M (Gr 5), Nina N (Gr 5), Julia P (Gr 2), Nicole P (Gr 5), and Mateo W (Gr K) for their help as well. News flash: We just learned that Riverstone's entry to the Festival of Trees was awarded Best in Show in the School/Youth Division II for Non-Tradition Christmas trees! We are thrilled! NEXT PARENTS' ASSOCIATION MEETING

We would like to invite everyone to our next meeting on Thursday, Dec 3 at 7:00 PM at the Liebich home (1650 E Holly Street in Boise). We will have 30 minutes of social time and the official meeting will start at 7:30 PM.

 With the dropping temperatures, we wanted to send out a reminder
to make sure your students come to school dressed for the weather.
Please make sure they come to school with their hats, coats,
scarves, mittens, etc. so they're warm at recess and during lunch!

GRANDFRIENDS DAY AND WINTER CONCERT ATTIRE

 Grandfriends Day
We are hosting our annual Grandfriends Day on Wednesday, Dec 9 at 12:30 PM. More details to follow but Elementary School students are encouraged to invite your grandparent or grandfriend to join us.
Winter Concert Following Grandfriends Day will be our Elementary School Winter Concert that starts at 2:00 PM. All are welcome!
This year's Winter Concert theme is 'Tis the Season of Peace and Joy.
Plan ahead for your student's concert attire Elementary students should wear dark jeans, pants or skirts for the winter concert performance. Please see below for grade requirements for the top portion of each student's outfit and contact Nicole Golay, Music teacher, with any questions.

Bookmark Contest Entries Due Dec 1
Information home for the Book Fair Bookmark contest was sent out with all Elementary School students last Friday. The due date for any submissions is Tuesday, Dec 1.
Friday, Dec 4 Grand Opening 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Please join us for the opening of the Book Fair as well as a pizza dinner and the annual Variety Show at 6:30 PM.
Monday, Dec 7 - Friday, Dec 11 Book Fair Open Hours 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
We would love your help for setting up the Book Fair the morning of Friday, Dec 4 and for taking down the Book Fair the morning of Monday, Dec 14. Please sign up to help on the Community Opportunities sheet and contact Kim Fall with questions or for more information on how to volunteer.

 Mark your calendars for Riverstone's Annual Variety Show on Friday, Dec 4! The show will follow the Grand Opening of the Book Fair and PA-sponsored pizza dinner and will start promptly at 6:30 PM.
This wonderful and sometimes zany Riverstone tradition is one that you won't want to miss! Come check out our talented students and Riverstone community members!
More details coming regarding the pizza dinner but plan to bring your family for a night of fun.

THE BAD SEED: SENIOR PLAY
|
 Come watch Riverstone's DP Theater Class perform "The Bad Seed" by Maxwell Anderson on Wednesday, Dec 9 from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM at the Hub.
The Penmark family has been followed by a string of deaths as they move from city to city. Join us to discover who the bad seed is in this dark and thrilling play.
Directed, produced and performed by our DP Theater students and additional high school actors, this is a play you don't want to miss! Please attend and support their hard work.
Lasting approximately 2 hours (including intermission), we recommend attendees are ages 13 and up due to mature content. Admission is free.

MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL SKI AND SNOWBOARD
|
 Now is the time for Middle and High School students to register for the 2016 Bogus Basin Ski & Snowboard Race Program! Over the course of six Saturdays in January (9, 16, 23, 30) and February (6, 13) students compete against other Treasure Valley students on recreational race courses, in the terrain park or on the Nordic trails. Students can participate as a Beginner, Intermediate or Expert, making the program a great way for students of all experience levels to get a taste of competition. Students who complete three out of the six scheduled Saturday races qualify for the Dotty Clark Championships in February.
Please note: Unlike many Riverstone athletic teams there is no training associated with the Ski & Snowboard Program. Students are responsible for purchasing their own lift-tickets, providing their own ski/snowboarding equipment and arranging their own transportation to and from the mountain on Saturdays.

 Admission at Kennedy Gymnasium is charged for all high school athletic contests. No admission is taken at Middle School contests unless it is a district conference tournament game.

$5.00 Adult
$3.00 Senior citizen
$3.00 Student (12 years and older through high school with photo ID)
No Charge for Riverstone students, staff, or children ages 6 and under
Winter Sports Season Pass Prices (only applies to regular season contests)
Discounted to $30 for individuals and $60 for a family (up to 5 members). Purchase your pass at the ticket table at the next home game!
