Hi All,
Just a quick note today before I head up to McCall for my last little break of summer. I hope you all enjoy the last few weeks before school starts, and, like me, are excited to all be together again - I miss you and your children!
I ask that you look closely at the newsletter as we have a lot going on. Meet the Teachers, All-School Convocation, and Rafting Trips, all offer you a chance to get involved and have fun. All are welcome.
Looking forward to seeing you soon,

ALL SCHOOL CONVOCATION & BOO HOO YAHOO COFFEE
|
All parents are invited to join us for our 4th Annual Riverstone All-School Convocation.
Our All-School Convocation will be held on Monday, Aug 31 at 9:00 AM in the Kennedy Gymnasium.
We start the school year celebrating what we know to be one of Riverstone's unique qualities and one of our Five Pillars, our strong sense of community. Convocation is always fun -- and will last approximately 30-45 minutes. Let's pack the gym with students, staff, and parents!
Parents' Association Boo Hoo Yahoo immediately following Convocation Sad to see your little ones head to class for the first time OR are you ready to shout "Yahoo" towards the sky? No matter your preference -- we will have the tissues and high-fives ready!
Plan to take a few moments immediately following the Convocation to stop by the Parents' Association tables in the Gym Foyer. Chairpersons for PA activities will be available to talk with you about what PA programs are taking place this year and how they can help match your skill set and interests to some of the important needs for our school. Being involved is good for you, your child, and the school. We're looking forward to meeting you! Contact Natalie Geffros, PA President, with questions.

The Parents' Association would like to create our 2nd Riverstone Photo Directory to compliment the school's student directory and help everyone get to know one another. In addition to names and contact information, we hope to have a photo of every family in the school!
To have your family's photo included, please send an email to Riverstonepa@riverstoneschool.org with the following:
- A family photo (1MB digital file)
- If your child lives in two households, please feel free to send two photos
We are excited about our second year of offering this and we look forward to seeing all of the beautiful (or entertaining) pictures of you and your families! If you have any questions, please contact Treacy Liebich.

As the beginning of the year approaches, please keep Outdoor Education details close at hand and help do your part to ensure everything runs smoothly by:- Referring to the Outdoor Education Calendar on the school website for dates.
- Referring to the Forms and Supply Lists on the school website for individual trip letters, equipment lists and permission slips. (Right under the school supply lists.)
- Trip Letters will provide nuts and bolts information about each trip.
- Equipment Lists can be printed off and used as checklists as you're packing.
- Permission Slips help the school gather the most up-to-date health information about your children so that we can provide the best care possible.
Please make every effort to return signed Permission Slips for outdoor activities/trips by the first day of school. Please email Ben if you have questions.

We are excited to announce that Life's Kitchen will be our school lunch provider for 2015-2016! Life's Kitchen is a nonprofit social enterprise providing job and life skills training to young adults with barriers to employment.
Life's Kitchen will be offering a hot entrée with sides each day, or alternatively, a turkey wrap combo. The online ordering system is the same as last year. Meals are priced for regular or small portion sizes, and the entrees and sides are both included. Nearly everything is scratch made, and it's all nutritious and kid tested. Meals will be served at Riverstone by Life's Kitchen. Parents who purchase meals from Life's Kitchen are eligible for a $5 lunch at the Life's Kitchen Café, or 5% off any Life's Kitchen catering (simply present your most recent school lunch invoice.) You may access the school lunch site, review the menu, and order online. (Riverstone's School Code: 211-930)
Take a sneak peak at the menu here.
View more information on the school lunch program, including ordering instructions, here. Where's CCG? Create Common Good, our lunch provider for the past two years, is expanding their training and production program in new and exciting directions, and they've asked Life's Kitchen, their partner organization, to step in and keep the school lunch program cooking.
