WORDS FROM OUR MALONE SCHOLARS

We included quotes from a few of our Malone Scholars.

"The opportunity to be a Malone Scholar has impacted my life drastically.

Riverstone has taught me to remain open to the possibilities that life may bring and the value of a tight-knit community. Riverstone has fostered my love for learning and has provided support for me. Finally, Riverstone has instilled in me a sense of purpose and responsibility to give back to my community and world."  ~Melody S (Malone Scholar Class of 2015)

I have a greatest appreciation for my education; being here has helped me realize the value that a good education has. Being at Riverstone has influenced my ideas and in many ways shaped me into a better person." ~Susannah H (Malone Scholar Class of 2015)

"The Malone Scholarship was by far the best thing that has ever happened to me. It
opened my eyes to new possibilities, endless possibilities.
I am thankful everyday for The Malone Scholarship; it has changed my life in more ways than one. And it will continue to change my life everyday I wake up, everyday I go to school, everyday I smile."  ~Jessica A (Malone Scholar Class of 2018)

"Having a Malone Scholarship or attending Riverstone will give you the opportunity to do/become the thing that you want. It will help you be a step closer to achieving your goals in life. " ~Evana A (Malone Scholar Class of 2019)

"Everyday is fun and challenging, and its always a journey. I have met so many wonderful people who became my best friends, and I can only thank you for starting such as inspirational program.  Without this experience, I don't know what I would do! So thank you so much Mr. Malone!"  ~Vimean R (Malone Scholar Class of 2019)

WHO IS JOHN MALONE?
The Malone Family Foundation was founded in 1997 by Dr. John C. Malone, well known communications and media executive and investor, and his family, with one principal objective: to improve access to quality education-particularly at the secondary school level-for extraordinary students who lack the financial resources to best develop their talents.

While in seventh grade, John Malone was the recipient of a work scholarship to Hopkins Grammar School in New Haven, CT. This opportunity proved to be pivotal in his life, providing him with "a peer group with whom I could have fascinating and pivotal discussion, an environment where I was not only allowed to be smart but was challenged to see many sides of each issue..."
