Greetings!
"If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough."
-Meister Eckhart
As we enter this season of thanksgiving, I want to express my gratitude to all who have contributed gifts, time, and talent to the mission of Ohio Interfaith Power and Light this past year. It's hard to believe that just five years ago the first seeds of OhIPL were being nurtured. We have now begun to emerge in some exciting new ways, with the support of so many of you.
Through our upcoming strategic planning process, we are looking forward to envisioning what the next several years will hold for OhIPL. We hope to discover new ways to offer a religious response to climate change through education, advocacy, and services. Please keep us in your prayers.
Visit our Join Us page on our website and be a part of OhIPL's mission. See below for information about how you can join our mission by becoming a Covenant Congregation or as an Individual Covenant member.
Thank you for your faith in seeking a better future for our children, for our neighbors throughout the world, and for our earth.
Blessings,
Sara Ward, Director

We have launched our new Covenants! Through the Covenant Congregation and the Individual Covenant, you have an opportunity to show your support for the mission of OhIPL and be a part of the network of concerned persons of faith in Ohio committed to a religious response to climate change.
Many of you also have asked how to make a tangible pledge to the mission of OhIPL. We have created the new Individual and Congregational Covenants just for these purposes. We ask you to re-commit your pledges to join us in our work for 2013 and beyond. If you sign up by November 20th, your donations will be matched. Click here for more information about Covenant Congregations. Click here for the Individual Covenant.
In addition, as a special bonus, if you sign up as a Covenant Congregation or Individual Covenant by November 20th, your name will be placed in a drawing for tickets to the 350.org Do the Math Tour Event on Nov. 27th in Columbus. See also the partnerships (click here) that we have developed over the past year. We are eager to establish more partnerships as the new year unfolds so that we have the resources to help you become successful stewards in your own homes and places of worship.

Save the Date: National Preach-In
|
Please save the dates of February 8-10, 2013, for the 2013 National Preach-In on Global Warming. On the weekend before Valentine's Day, thousands of clergy will join in our annual event to express love for Creation and address climate change as a serious moral issue.
The focus for 2013 will be on vulnerable communities working on the front lines of climate change, both in North America and around the globe. On February 8-10, please join us in sharing messages about the need for people of faith to mobilize in a religious response to global warming. Whether you are clergy, a lay leader, or a caring individual, sign up your congregation now, and in the coming months we'll send you reminders as well as links to free resources to help you prepare sermons, reflections, devotionals, Bible studies, children's activities, and more. Click here to sign up today!
