Visionary Leader Header

My brain is a little tired this afternoon.  No wonder, I suppose, as the brain itself has been a focus of learning for me this week.  Philippe Goldin and Laura Delizonna of Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute did a terrific job of sharing the latest in brain science -- and showing us how mindfulness practices such as pausing or mediation help us function better.  Neuroscientists and psychologists are learning in leaps and bounds about how our brains are wired and are making important connections between health, heart (emotions) and thinking.

I plan to rest up this weekend to get ready for Monday's radio show when one of the most intelligent leaders I know will be a guest on the show.  Dr. Tim Killeen's view of the world is based on his background as a scientist, and he brings clarity and focus to his vision in a way that I have rarely seen.  If you'd like to hear a visionary leader with a high-impact vision think aloud next week, please don't miss this one.

Here's to a weekend of resting and renewing our brains!

Very best,

What the Nebo team is finding educational, provocative and inspirational this week:

The Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute (SIYLI) teaches a mindfulness-based emotional intelligence and leadership development curriculum. Developed at Google, the course was only available internally to employees of the company until last year. Several Nebo employees attended the East Coast premiere of the program at the Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown University this week. You can find out more about the Institute's story and the research behind their work on their website. For more resources, read the book or listen to Kate Ebner's interview with co-founder and CEO Marc Lesser.
