Dear fellow minister,
As you are aware, we adopted a resolution at the 2015 Potomac Network Conference empowering the Executive Presbytery to oversee the development of a transition plan, and that a revision of the bylaws and constitution be presented to the 2016 Network Conference. The transition plan includes significant changes to the Potomac Ministry Network Constitution, and we are required to provide the proposed changes to our constituents two months prior to the conference.
The proposed amendments to the constitution are available at this link: http://potomacag.org/Network-Structure-Updates. Any of our members may request a hard copy of the documents by contacting our office at 703-753-0300. Inform the receptionist that you would like the printed copy of the Network Structure Update documents, and your mailing address.
Also, below is the schedule for the Regional Forums, which begin next week. Please review the schedule, and make plans to attend your Regional Forum. Each region will elect their Executive Presbyter, to be ratified at the Network Conference in May. Time will be given to answer any questions regarding the proposed Constitution & Bylaws.
The work that has gone on since last year's Conference is substantial. We have met in every region to allow time for discussion, feedback, and to answer questions. The process has been beneficial in helping craft the structural changes that are being proposed. However, when and if these changes are adopted, I want to encourage all of us to remain flexible and generous as we engage in the actual implementation.
I appreciate all the effort that many people have contributed in these last few months; however, we are not presenting a perfect document. It is going to take all of us working together, esteeming each other, and taking to heart our theme ONE - Pray it Forward to effectively make this transition. To that end, I ask that you join me in prayer for our Network. This structure update is not an attempt to change simply for the sake of change. I am convinced that it is vital to form our Network structure in a way that best serves our mission of making disciples by building healthy ministers and ministries.
Sincerely in Christ,
Ken Burtram
Superintendent
