The photos are pouring in for our 6th Annual Nature & Water Photo Contest! And, there's still time to enter.

We are looking for striking digital images of BC's natural diversity. The four categories are:

1. Wild Water: rivers, lakes, wetlands, waterfalls, rain and other wild water in BC

2. Landscapes & Water: natural places in BC and water such as a mountain overlooking a lake or a forest with a river

3. Wildlife & Water: wild animals, birds, and fish in BC and water

4. Plants & Water: plants in BC and water

The grand prize winner will have the opportunity to have professional photographer Graham Osborne review a portfolio of 5 images and provide critical feedback, and receive a framed version of the winning photo. Each category winner will receive a 12 inch x 18 inch enlargement of his or her photo courtesy of CustomColor Professional Imaging Lab and will have the photo featured in The Nature Trust's Natural Legacy newsletter.

The contest closes December 7. Public voting runs from December 11th to 14th. And the grand prize winner will be announced December 19.

Photos can be uploaded on our website or to flickr. If you have any questions, e-mail [email protected].

We want to express our appreciation to over 280 guests who joined us to celebrate 41 years of conservation at the Nature & Water Gala on October 3rd at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

Highlights included CTV as our media sponsor with Keri Adams as our MC, an outstanding performance by Glee Camp Vancouver's Show Choir Upstage, ballerina greeters from the Goh Ballet Academy, and auctioneer Tyler Olson providing entertaining support for the live auction.

We would like to acknowledge Deborah Jones who received a Conservation Champion Award and Bert Hoffmeister scholarship recipient Martha Essak who shared research on Song Sparrows on Mandarte Island.
