A Message from our President, Lynn Ward

As we begin 2014, I wish our members a Happy New Year and note that the Chamber looks forward to providing an exciting and beneficial year of programming for your business.

This year's first major event will engage policy makers who directly impact the business community. This is an election year for all state office holders in Connecticut and our Legislative Breakfast on Wednesday, January 22 will provide an excellent opportunity to connect with state senators and representatives who serve our community at the State Capitol. The event will be held at Coco Key Water Resort, Hotel and Convention Center, 3580 East Main Street in Waterbury, from 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. I encourage you to express your concerns to area legislators at this very timely point in the year.

On Thursday, January 30, we will honor businesses during our annual Harold Webster Smith Awards Breakfast. It will be held at Aria Wedding & Banquet Facility, 45 Murphy Road, Prospect. Concentric Tool and Manufacturing Company, Inc. will receive the Manufacturer of the Year Award, TC's Pawn Company & Electronics Exchange will receive the Small Business of the Year Award and, Tavis Tindall, of the Tavis Tindall Law Firm, will receive the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Kathy Bromage, Senior Vice President of Strategy and Marketing for The Hartford, will serve as our keynote speaker.

As always, I encourage you to contact me if I can be of assistance to you at lward@waterburychamber.com or (203) 757-0701 ext. 310.

Best regards,

 Lynn Signature
