May will be a memorable month for the Chamber with a number of great events scheduled and the exciting conclusion of our 2013 membership campaign on May 15. We look forward to welcoming your contacts as new Chamber members. Our Out for Business and New Member Reception will be held at Grand Oak Villa in Oakville on Wednesday, May 22.
Next week, our Public Policy Programming provides a
timely opportunity to directly engage with Mayor Neil O'Leary prior to the upcoming campaign season. The Mayoral Luncheon takes place Wednesday, May 8, from noon to 1:30 at the Courtyard by Marriott Waterbury.
Also, on Monday, May 13, we will hold the best golf tournament of the season. Our 19th Annual Golf Outing will be held at the Country Club of Waterbury. To join our members on the links, register here or call (203) 757-0701.
Finally, save the date for the Naugatuck Chamber's biggest event of the year, the Eighth Annual Duck Day and Race, in downtown Naugatuck on Sunday, June 2. This event continues to grow with more fun, family-oriented activities each year and benefits local non-profit organizations.

VIBESAFTERFIVE.COM - Main St Waterbury launches downtown nightlife website
Main Street Waterbury announced that they have launched a new website www.vibesafterfive.com which highlights downtown Waterbury nightlife and showcases the many restaurants and bars in the downtown Waterbury area. The concept was originally suggested by Tony Bonacassio, Promotion Committee volunteer and a downtown bar owner, who, while vacationing in Florida noticed that in one community, every establishment posted all nightlife events taking place in that community, thereby encouraging visitors and residents to 'hop' from place to place. Another committee member, Glen Berthiaume, pitched the concept of creating good 'vibes' for downtown visitors and after a discussion, the Committee agreed on "Vibes After Five." The website features a list of restaurant and nightlife establishments including weekly specials and entertainment options, is compatible with all smart phone platforms, will be updated as needed, and, a click on a restaurant's name will connect you to the website and Facebook page. Main Street Waterbury intends to create printed materials which will help with the branding effort. Main Street Waterbury CEO Carl Rosa stated, "It is our hope that vibesafterfive.com will be everyone's choice to get the latest update on Downtown Waterbury "nightlife".
