The Jungle Book Adventure
Mar 20-28, 2015

This is really out of Jungle book, with over 100 kms of wilderness and no roads, possibly the best multi-day adventure possible within a week. The Kali river forms the international border between India and Nepal in its upper reaches. A self-contained river journey down this river is one of the prime options in this part of the Himalaya. The river flows past terraced farms of Kumaoni and Nepali villages, fresh water streams, sandy beaches, thick tropical jungles, plantations as we travel downstream through the terai belt negotiating exciting white water.

Kuari Pass, North Face Apr 25-May 01, 2015
view from kuari
The pass is probably the best window to view the high Himalayan peaks. The views are simply breathtaking, facing north the vision sweeps from the gorges of Trishul in the east to the peaks of Kedarnath in the west - the Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Kamet, Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Nandadevi, Bethartoli, Dunagiri - (all high 6000ers or 7000 m peaks) lined one after the other in a magnificent arc ... Southwards the foothills stretch wave upon wave on to the dim haze of the distant plains. Dotted by some remote villages one also gets good insights into the local life.
