TONS OF FUN AT CAMP LUNAGAD, TONS VALLEY - OPENS EARLY MAY THROUGH END-JUNE
Camp Lunagad runs through the summer each year in the western part of Uttarakhand, in the Jaunsar Bawar region on the banks of the Tons river. Located at a pleasant 3500 feet above sea level, this area is rich in every type of western Himalayan flora and fauna, densely forested with deodar, pine, birch, chestnut, rhododendron and jamun.
An excellent river camping site, relaxing walks, ample angling opportunities and great whitewater make it an ideal getaway for everyone including families and children, from the quiet holiday-maker to the die hard adventure seeker. Click here for details
For those looking for adventure moving up a notch, try out our special Tons Thriller - Aquaterra Adventures opened the entire Tons river, 19 years after it was run in 1986. And continues to be the only outfitter running regular descents on this section, continuing to set the industry benchmark in running all of India's wild raftable rivers.
100% SAFE, FUN & UNADULTERATED JOY BY INDIA'S GREATEST RIVER, THE GANGA !
An early morning 250 km drive, train ride or flight away, Atali Ganga, is nestled in the Shiwaliks, 27 kms up the Ganga valley, near the pilgrim town of Rishikesh.
Choose to go mountain biking, try out our excellent High Ropes course, wall climbing,
abseil, hike, camp, inflatable kayak, raft, learn the "Eskimo roll" in our pool before taking on the river. Sip sundowners after a long day outdoors, and dine under the stars. Surrounded by reserved forest on all sides, Atali is nestled away from the crowded strip downstream, and will be a great option for a
quick getaway for the discerning traveller.
And for the not so active, a terrific spot to sit by the river, read, star gaze or watch a river go by. Click here for details and click below for reviews ::

TRIPS OF THE SEASON !!
THE KUARI PASS TREK MAY 18-26, 2013 The pass is probably the best window to view the high Himalayan peaks. The views are simply breathtaking, facing north the vision sweeps from the gorges of Trishul in the east to the peaks of Kedarnath in the west - the Kedarnath, Chaukhamba, Nilkantha, Kamet, Gauri Parbat, Hathi Parbat, Nandadevi, Bethartoli, Dunagiri - (all high 6000ers or 7000 m peaks) lined one after the other in a magnificent arc ... Southwards the foothills stretch wave upon wave on to the dim haze of the distant plains. Dotted by some remote villages one also gets good insights into the local life. Email for more details |
In May 2005, Aquaterra Adventures opened the entire Tons river, and continues to be the only outfitter running regular descents on this section. On the Middle Tons between Lunagad and Tiuni, the river drops at an average rate of 32 feet per kilometer. This includes a drop of 78 feet/kilometer over the last three and a half kilometers before Tiuni. Amazing scenery, world class whitewater make this a premier expedition for the white water paddler. We run several rapids ranging from Class III to Class IV+/V, with whitewater sections separated by maybe a hundred yards or less of flat water. email now to book your space

The Victoria Falls is where the wide Zambezi River simply drops some 100 meters into a narrow gorge.
The Falls lie across the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. Called "Mosi-oa-Tunya", (the smoke that thunders) in the local language the Falls are one of the seven wonders of the world and when you first come to Zambia, Livingstone is must visit destination. We use two full days to rest, relax, and take in the sights, sounds and smells of Africa adventure. You can choose to go visit the Devils Pool at the edge of Victoria Falls, walk with the lions, do the Vic Falls tour, abseil, leap off God's Swing, try out the zip line, or jump off 111 meters from a bridge over the mighty Zambezi ! A sunset cruise on the Zambezi is certainly a must-do. From here we get into our rafts and practice paddling techniques before we paddle across rapid 1. Here we have the option to carry the rafts up over a few rocks and float around in the "Boiling Pot" directly beneath Victoria Falls, the best start to any raft trip in the world. We run rapid after rapid such as the Midnight Diner, Gulliver's Travels and the Mother where we can have a wonderful riverside banquet lunch whilst watching other rafts come through, Oblivion!
