On Thursday, April 7, 2016, CUP hosted its 9th Annual Leadership Gala, where we honored: Citi (accepted by Stephen Bird, Chief Executive Officer of Global Consumer Banking at Citi) with the Corporate Diversity and Inclusion Leadership Award; Solomon D. "Sol" Trujillo, Founder and Chairman of the Trujillo Group, LLC and Co-Founder and Chairman of the Latino Donor Collaborative (LDC), with the Lifetime Leadership Award; Bozoma Saint John, Head of Global Consumer Marketing for Apple, with the Breakthrough Leadership Award; and Robert F. Smith, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Vista Equity Partners, with the Philanthropic Leadership Award. The host for the evening was Caroline Clarke, Host of Black Enterprise Business Report. Our Gala chairs were Sherrese Clarke-Soares, Managing Director and Head of North America Relationship Lending at Morgan Stanley; and Jose Tavarez, Managing Director and Head of Emerging Markets FICC Sales for the Americas Region at Bank of America - Merrill Lynch. On April 5, 2016, the CUP Leadership Institute launched a new online training series. The CUP Member Webinar Series provides interactive sessions designed to equip both New York and Los Angeles members with the skills and knowledge needed to advance to top leadership positions in both business and civic spheres. The first session on 'Building and Maintaining Strategic Networks' provided a platform for participants to analyze their current network and offered a unique approach to developing a strategy for networking and relationship management.

- CUP Member Stephanie Delpe, who joined Prudential Financial's Corporate HR team in October 2014 as Director of HR Reporting will take on an expanded role as Director of Reporting & Process Management and HR Services at Prudential Financial.
- CUP Member Olayinka Fadahunsi, Manager of Communications at Standard and Poor's Rating Services, was recently promoted to Head of External Communications for Standard & Poor's Ratings Services.
