FALL 2014 CUP ELP KICK-OFF RETREAT

On Wednesday, October 15, the Fall 2014 CUP Executive Leadership Program (ELP) kicked-off with an intensive skills-based retreat at the Wyndham Hamilton Park Hotel & Conference Center in Florham Park, NJ. CUP ELP is CUP's signature initiative aimed at developing the pipeline of senior professionals of color and women. Through a structured series of workshops and keynote conversations with senior business leaders, 26 participants from 19 firms came away from the retreat with greater self-awareness and newly acquired, actionable skills and strategies to better position themselves for leadership opportunities in their organizations. The CUP ELP experience will continue throughout the year with ongoing leadership training via the CUP ELP continuing education series, Learning to Lead. DISTINGUISHED LEADERSHIP SERIES: CUP IN LOS ANGELES

On, Wednesday, October 22nd, CUP in Los Angeles held a Distinguished Leadership Series event, hosted by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. The evening featured a conversation with Jeri Harman, Managing Partner & CEO at Avante Mezzanine Partners; Sean Monroe, Partner at O'Melveny & Myers LLP; and Mina Pacheco Nazemi, Partner at GCM Grosvenor. TABLE TALK: LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR 

On Tuesday, October 28, CUP presented a panel discussion on Leadership Development in the Nonprofit Sector hosted by Con Edison. Featured speakers were Tiffany Dufu, Chief Leadership Officer at Levo League; Matthew Klein, Executive Director of the Center for Economic Opportunity; and Caroline Kim Oh, Executive Coach to nonprofit leaders. The discussion was moderated by Barbara Chang, CEO at Code2Work. The panelists shared insights on the essential skills & tools required for successful leadership in the nonprofit sector, fostering creativity & innovation in leadership, and creating a leadership development pipeline for the next generation.
