| THE GIFT OF LIFE: Lauren Sorell and Marty Null Talk About Her Gift of a Kidney
Many friends of Christ Chapel know of the gift of a kidney Lauren Sorell gave to a man who at the time was a total stranger. Since then, Lauren, Marty and their families have become dear friends. On March 24th at 7:00 p.m., they will share their story with us in worship. Come hear an amazing story of faith, hope, and courage from our very own amazing mentor.

A BUSY, FUN, BUSY FUN SPRING When Spring Break's over, the fun has just begun at Christ Chapel. Note these events in the weeks ahead:
March 18th - Cooking for the Homeless. We'll gather at 3:00 to cook for the 40 to 50 men, women, and children who depend on the Southside Community Center for supper. Come to help cook (3:00 - 5:00), serve (5:00 - 6:30) or clean up (5:00 - 6:00)
March 20th, noon - Lunch with Nebraska campus ministry students, who will be travelling through our town as part of their Spring Break trip. Come help serve and eat and talk with them about their ministry and show off ours.
March 20th, 7:00 p.m. - Part Four of NOT for the Squeamish: Following Jesus in 2013. Even if you have missed previous nights, you can join in on this series about what it looks like to be a disciple of Jesus in this day and time.
March 27th, 7:00 p.m. - Stations of the Cross. We'll carpool from Christ Chapel to the Disciples of Christ church on Ranch Road 12, where they have set up a very fine mile-long Stations of the Cross trail.
March 31st, 6:15 p.m. - Easter Potluck Supper. All students and mentors are invited to bring a dish to share to our Easter Dinner. Easter worship will be at 7:00 p.m. Bring a friend!
April 2nd, 8:00 p.m. - God Goes to the Movies
A young man who survives a disaster at sea is hurtled into an epic journey of adventure and discovery. While cast away, he forms an unexpected connection with another survivor: a fearsome Bengal tiger. Come see how God might be speaking through this film. Popcorn provided.
April 6th, 10:00 a.m. San Antonio Zoo Trip. Why? Because God's creation is too wonderful for words, and some of God's best work is in the animals of the San Antonio Zoo. 750 species of critters are represented. Bring $12 for admission and money for lunch, or pack a lunch; the zoo allows small soft-sided coolers.

HOLY WEEK SUPPER: March 26th, 6:15 p.m.
We continue a 40 year old tradition here at Christ Chapel with our Holy Week supper. This is not intended to be exactly a Seder Supper; out of respect for our Jewish brothers and sisters, we are not trying to recreate their sacred meal. We do use the night to educate ourselves as to the meaning of the meal in Judaism and our own connection to it through Jesus. Seating is limited to 40, and that includes guests from the Catholic Student Center and from the Baptist Student Movement. If you intend to come, you must make a reservation in advance. Sign up any time at Christ Chapel, or send an e-mail to christchapel@txstate.edu to reserve your spot. A team is needed to help cook, decorate, and clean up.

Got a Good Joke? Bring it on April 7th, 7:00 p.m.
The first Sunday after Easter is in some traditions a day to make fun of death and the devil by telling jokes for the sermon. So bring your best, passably decent jokes to worship that night. As former Texas State campus minister Ron Birk likes to say, "There's nothing the devil hates more than the sound of laughter."

SERVANTS OF THE CROSS
Christ Chapel's ministry is open to all students, staff, and faculty of Texas State University. Participants are not required to attend a certain number of times in order to be considered part of the ministry; the welcome we extend is unconditional.
However, some students may choose to explore their faith lives more intentionally through the ministry of Christ Chapel. Toward that end, you are invited to enroll in Servants of the Cross, an order of students in ministry.
Students enrolled in Servants of the Cross make a commitment to completing three units of study over a three-semester period. This semester's subject is a
n exploration of the foundations of the Christian faith through conversation and reflection. Classes will be held on Sundays at 3:30 on
March 17th, 24th, April 7th and 14th.
To discover anew and on adult terms the content and meaning of the Christian faith... To be refreshed in their spiritual journey and discover the richness of the Christian tradition for sustaining a life-long exploration of faith... To learn skills for ministry applicable to any life situation... To participate in a close community of friends and to develop lasting relationships... To be equipped to serve as interns in Christ Chapel's ministry program... To know more closely the joy of life in Christ. To enroll, please notify Pr. Jaime in person or through e-mail.
