COPAC

Offers

 Detox Services

COPAC Addiction Services now offers medically supervised compassionate detoxification from benzodiazepines and opiates, including Suboxone.  COPAC helps chemically dependent adults and their families overcome the life-crippling effects of addiction by providing multidisciplinary, medically-guided programs and services.  Detox Services are provided at COPAC's residential campus, located in a secluded area of Mississippi.

Detoxification treatment options vary based on patient need, but typically range from five to fourteen days.  Each patient is different and it is difficult to determine prior to admission the exact length of stay.  Our treatment team, led by COPAC Medical Director, Lloyd Gordon, III, MD, will evaluate and determine each patient's medical and psychiatric needs.  COPAC does treat patients who have been diagnosed with chemical dependency and a psychiatric disorder.

Detox treatment takes place within COPAC's medical infirmary building on campus, where they will be monitored 24-hours per day by our team of physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses. While a patient is staying in the infirmary, he or she can expect to be comfortable.  COPAC's long-standing belief of teaching of life skills in addiction treatment is integrated into its detox treatment, as well.  Patients are encouraged to stay mobile and will prepare their own snacks or meals from fresh or easy to prepare foods provided in the infirmary kitchen.  COPAC counselors will visit the patient for counseling sessions.  Other COPAC patients who have been in residential treatment for a number of weeks may visit detox patients to help establish a support system during their detox stay.  This also gives residential patients a sense of gratitude for their days of sobriety.

Prior to discharge from detox at COPAC, the treatment team will make continuing care recommendations for the patient, which may be an Intensive Outpatient Program or residential treatment of 30, 60, 90 days or more.

COPAC accepts most major insurance policies.  To determine if your insurance coverage is valid for COPAC services, contact our Business Office.  Additional payment options are also available.  Please contact Courtney Milan, our admissions director, with additional questions about detoxification.
