A Job Description Then and Now Such was the description Paul used to recruit two co-workers to travel to Corinth with his trusted partner Titus, in order to encourage the church there and secure gifts for poor Christians in Jerusalem (1 Cor. 8:16-24). We read later that the trip was enormously successful.
Though unnamed in scripture, Titus' two "mystery men" added significant value to growing the Kingdom. While extraordinarily well-liked, these two men were also enthusiastic and responsible. They provided accountability for Titus and dependability during inevitable tough spots. Their exceptional traits reinforced the early church's reputation for quality ministry.
The Titus Team position may not be posted on monster.com today. Yet it remains an apt model for God's servants - both those named and unnamed - as you consider two important questions:
Do you surround yourself with people fitting this job description?
Are you the kind of person that Titus would want on his team?
