Your registration for one of two educational tracks is funded...
The Eden AlternativeŽ has received funds from the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) to help reduce antipsychotic use in the State of Oklahoma. Last Spring, Phase I of this project engaged 350 Oklahoma nursing home employees. This second phase will give a new set of participants the opportunity to take their learning even deeper. Funds will support the delivery of 2 educational tracks to choose from. Your organization is invited to register at no charge. To receive fully-funded registration privileges, you must be an employee of a Medicare and/or Medicaid participating nursing home .
This project will help participants:
- Identify limitations of current approaches to dementia care
- Recognize the importance of enhancing well-being for all;
- Reframe "problem behaviors" as unmet needs;
- Collaborate creatively with family members as partners in care;
- Apply skills learned to everyday situations of need;
- Help reduce the use of antipsychotics; and
- Act as change agents through use of an implementation protocol.
