Certified Eden at Home Associate Training:
Applying the Eden Alternative Principles to Home and Community-Based Care...
This 3-day training empowers participants to serve as change agents, prepared to infuse person-directed practices into the daily operations of their organizations. Participants learn how to apply the Eden Alternative Ten Principles across different home and community-based settings to create a life worth living for all members of the care partner team.
Since education is central to this process, Certified Eden at Home Associates are also prepared to facilitate Eden at Home Care Partner Workshops, a turn-key learning experience designed to share Eden at Home concepts with a variety of care partners (employees, family members, volunteers, and the Elders themselves). Certified Eden at Home Associates focus on inspiring care partners to build collaborative teams that include the active participation of the Elders themselves.
Participants learn how to inspire others to:
- Put the Eden Alternative Principles into action sustainably and effectively;
- Develop meaningful connections through thoughtful and effective communication;
- Apply practical tools and approaches for improving quality of life for all, including individuals living with dementia;
- Prevent loneliness, helplessness, and boredom for all on the care partner team; and
- Work together to reduce stress and burnout.
Who should take this training?
Representatives of organizations who wish to have a Certified Eden at Home Associate on their team, such as non-profit organizations or state agencies focused on aging or long-term care, home care and home health organizations, faith-based organizations, Area Agencies on Aging, hospitals, hospices, senior centers, adult day services, independent living communities or long-term care organizations with assisted living and or independent living options, home health outreach or an interest in supporting the ongoing needs of short-term rehabilitation patients who are headed back home.
