FAA Designated Pilot Examiner 'DPE'
President of Gold Standard Aviation

"A Discussion on the new Airmen Certification Standards (ACS)"

Jack Boyd is an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and former international airline pilot. He is also President of Gold Standard Aviation a Cirrus and Citation training center in Miami, Florida. In addition to these duties, Jack is a monthly contributing writer of training and safety articles in AOPA Pilot Magazine and Flying Revue Magazine in Europe. Florida was selected by the FAA to beta test the new Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) and Jack has informally incorporated this successor to the Practical Test Standards (PTS) in over 600 FAA check rides. His unique inside perspective on the check ride process including the growing pains encountered with this new risk mitagation pilot testing standard should provide insight on the future of Airmen training and evaluation.
