TAF equips students of color for success in college and life through the power of a STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education.

Let's Hear it from You

TAF Academy student

TAF has been around for 16 years now, and we’ve seen a lot of the area’s high-achieving youth of color off to college. We know you have stories to tell about your time here, or your child’s time here, and we need to hear them. Being able to use your stories will help us recruit more youth of color, raise funds to keep our programs going, and it’ll help our team see the value in what they’re doing every day. Help us have a greater impact by sending us your story, a picture, or even just a quote we can use, today to stories@techaccess.org, or by passing this along to someone you know who has a story to tell.

STEM Up Set to Launch!

TAF middle schoolers

Middle school students in our STEM Up program this year will be learning more advanced concepts than we’ve taught to this age group before in our after-school programs. We’re starting up in January at the BCLS in White Center. Students can choose a track for the inaugural semester of this program: they can study engineering using robotics, aviation concepts, and more, or they can study programming and graphic design (this track includes creating video games!). We’re thrilled to have a STEM Up program in Seattle at Washington Middle School already; we’ll be starting one at Showalter Middle School in Tukwila in January, too. It’s not too late to register, but it will be soon, so do it asap!

TAF Academy Students Prep for College

TAF Academy students on college tour

TAF Academy students are gearing up for college, and part of that means following the Roadmap to College motto – “Done by Dec 1.” All TAF Academy seniors must click “submit” on at least two initial college applications by December 1st! To help them, TAF’s hosting TAF Academy seniors and juniors for a College Application Night at the new Bethaday Community Learning Space on Monday; this will be our first student-centered event at the new headquarters! Students will work on college and scholarship apps, do mock interviews, and generally get awesome at applying to college.
