March is a busy time of year for the Aquatic Sports Calendar, with both the Junior and Senior State Championships to be conducted.
This weekend we will see a team of juniors travel down to Warrnambool and following weekend the seniors travel to Fairhaven. Can I take this opportunity to wish everyone safe travels and I hope that you enjoy the experience of these major events.
Of course our members could not attend without the behind the scene work of the administrative team (team managers), coaches and parents - thank you.
In the last couple of weeks Paul Lunny, who headed up our Training and Assessment area handed in his resignation. Paul led a large restructure of the Cadet and Bronze program in what I believe will be a legacy that will continue. As well Paul was able to increase our training / assessment capability and assisted to ensure specialist award courses were run. Thanks Paul for your hard work in a challenging area and it looks like will have have a replacement for this important role in the near future.
There are only about 4 weeks of patrols left, so please remember your commitment and the expectations around this. Drownings can and do occur right throughout the year - not just when the sun is out and it's warm. Thank you to those who are undertaking their commitment and those that are doing extra to cover and specialist award gaps.
Do you have some free storage space for a Club archive project ?
We are on the lookout for a suitable area to locate a Compactus (approx. 1000 x 2700) to store various Club archive records. Ideally this could be located in the local area / Geelong for reasonable access as required. If you do please give me a call on 0419 52 52 58. Many thanks,
