With the lead up to Summer, momentum is gaining around the Club so welcome to a second post for October to provide you with some more updates.
The Melbourne Cup Long Weekend is just a couple of week away and for many this is the start of their return to Point Lonsdale as the weather improves.
This weekend will see our Property area facilitate workingbees at all 3 sites and although Andrew, Mandy and Huw have a list of tasks to be done, without the 'buy in' and manpower of all Club areas then our facilities won't be ready for ALL areas to use them.
So, please download the information below and set aside just the MORNING, of Sunday 1st November.
In coming days those with positions of responsibility in the Club will receive an invite in the mail for our first Season Launch function, which will be a Cocktail Party.
This is being held on Saturday 21st November - 7:00pm for 7:30pm at the Monahan Centre Queenscliff. The location has breathtaking views of the Heads and will allow us to thank all those that take on positions of responsibility within the Club and to gather before the peak period commences.
We will have some senior government leaders present and it looks like some great live music for once the formalities are complete.
There will also be an opportunity for those who may not receive the invite to come along and more information on this will be available from our Facebook / Twitter pages in a week or so.
Preparations for the 28th Rip View Swim Classic (Sunday 3rd January) are progressing well.
I am delighted to announce that The Point are our naming rights sponsor for the 1.4km swim and we're on the lookout for a naming rights sponsor for the inaugural 3.8km swim.
The RVSC website has been updated for this year's event, so please use your networks to promote this great day for the Club and Point Lonsdale, which is our largest annual fundraising event !
Finally, we are always on the lookout for new sponsors to assist the Club, while they receive some great publicity and promotion. If you have any suggestions, please chat with Liam in the first instance and we can put the right person in touch with them from the Club.
