About Vernon Maine

     Hello Folks!

Vern Maine here. It has been a pleasure coordinating the presentation of this series of focus articles intended to provide you with a more personal perspective of several key members of our team. In other articles, we've presented Andrew Cernota, David Rardin, Doug Burum, Matt Curran and Dan Long.

I want to take this opportunity to introduce you briefly to the remainder of our staff, all of whom play vital roles in the total performance of this firm.

Karen Labrie has been our CFO and accountant since the practice was started in 1993. She crunches the numbers in the backroom relentlessly to keep the firm on a solid financial footing. She handles compliance matters for all state and federal requirements, and ensures that client trust accounts are always in good order. She also manages the complex foreign exchange payments and receipts required of a global law practice. Thank you, Karen, for the many years of great service!

Paralegal Sharon Belliveau served as administrative assistant and receptionist during her first two years here, supporting our client development efforts and getting to know our client base and operating procedures. During that time she was also training on paralegal matters and providing support to the paralegal mission. She has recently been elevated to full paralegal status, and is currently supporting the professional staff and their respective clients.

Michelle Wyman has been with us for four years, during which time she has quietly made herself indispensable as my executive assistant, and as the firm's marketing communications coordinator, bookkeeper and our liaison with CFO Karen Labrie. Clients will best know Michelle as the go-to person for questions relating to their invoices and accounts.

Jennifer Vining joined the firm in 2015, and is currently supporting Sharon and the paralegal mission while her training continues. Denise Colby also joined the firm in 2015 as our new administrative assistant and receptionist. She is the first voice and/or face, our callers and visitors are likely to encounter. She brings with her a fine blend of talent, experience and skills that will enrich the character of our staff and contribute to both our legal and business missions.

A quick nod also to my wife Suzy who with her B.S. in Paralegal Studies and prior law firm experience provides important executive and paralegal support from time to time as needed.

As for me, apart from the clients I serve directly and my responsibilities as managing partner here at the firm, my personal passions are flying and ham radio. I own and fly a single seat sport plane, a Vans RV-3, N633TB, which I love to loop and roll. I am licensed to fly helicopters as well. It is no accident that our office lies underneath the traffic pattern of the Nashua Airport! I am also an Extra class ham radio operator, AI1I, working CW on the HF bands when time permits. When I am not flying or tapping out Morse code, Suzy and I are often involved with our 6 children, their spouses, and our 11 granddaughters.

2013 marked 20 years of service for our practice! As we progress steadily through our third decade of serving you with the best intellectual property services possible, we thank you all for your trust and confidence in us, and for the many referrals you have sent us over the years. You have helped us succeed; and our goal, as always, is to help you succeed.  Together, we can do this!

Yours truly,

Vern Maine
