Hello Folks!

Vern Maine here.  It has been a pleasure coordinating the presentation of this series of focus articles intended to provide you with a more personal perspective of several key members of our team.  In other articles, we've presented Andrew Cernota, David Rardin, Doug Burum, and Debbie Stengel.  I want to take this opportunity to introduce you briefly to the remainder of our staff, all of whom play vital roles in the total performance of this firm.

Karen Labrie is our long-time CFO and accountantShe keeps the firm on a suitably conservative financial footing, ensuring that client trust accounts are always in order and coordinating the sometimes complex foreign exchange payments and receipts required of a global law practice.

Jackie Judkins provides comprehensive patent and trademark paralegal services, mainly in support of Attorneys Andrew Cernota and David Rardin and their clients.  She is responsible for the preparation and filing of a large number of applications for both patents and trademarks, and for a large volume of associated correspondence. Jackie is frequently in direct contact with clients and international agents, coordinating the complex procedural aspects of these intellectual property matters.  Now that Chief Paralegal Debbie Stengel is assuming a broader business management role, we depend even more on Jackie's skills and diligence in her paralegal role.

Michelle Parkhurst provides executive assistance and marketing support to me personally, and also supports our CFO Karen Labrie in managing the firm's financial affairs and client accounts.  Clients will best know Michelle as the go-to person for questions relating to their invoices and accounts.

Sharon Belliveau is our administrative assistant and receptionist.  She is new to the firm this year but brings with her a significant set of wide ranging skills to support the team in both our legal and business missionsSharon is the first voice and/or face our callers and visitors are likely to encounter.  We expect her role to expand as she gains experience and we continue to grow.

A quick nod also to Alexis Stengel and to my wife, Suzy, both of whom provide important miscellaneous part-time support as needed.

As for me, apart from the clients I serve directly and my responsibilities as managing partner here at the firm, my personal passion is flying.  I am licensed to fly helicopters as well as single engine airplanes. I own and fly a single seat sport plane, a Vans RV-3, which I love to loop and roll.  It is no accident that our office lies underneath the traffic pattern of the Nashua Airport!  When I am not flying, Suzy and I are often involved with our 6 children, their spouses, and our 11 granddaughters.

We will celebrate 20 years for the law practice in 2013.  On behalf of everyone here, thank you all for your trust and for the opportunity to be of continuing service these many years.  Thank you also for your continuing support in referring others to us for legal services.  Referrals have always been our best source of new business.

Yours truly,

Vern Maine
