THANK YOU TO OUR 2013 PARTNERS

IIAO wants to take a moment to thank our 2013 Partners for their continued support of the work of our Association! The Partners Program creates a win-win situation between the Association and our insurance companies, wholesalers and vendors.  We market the program once each year and your backing of this program supports all of our services and events for the year. In return, you receive an unprecedented level of exposure to our member agencies. The five levels of participation - Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze - provide an opportunity for everyone to participate.  The 2014 Partners Program is now underway. Please email or call Cathy at [email protected] or 405-840-4426 should you have any questions regarding the Partners Program. Click here to download the 2014 Partners Program form.

IN THE 'KNOW' WITH IIAO

Dan Ramsey now has a blog on our website, www.iiaok.com. This is the place to go to get all of the latest information regarding the industry, association news and legislative updates. It is under the news section of our website, the Exec's Corner. When he adds articles those will also be pushed out to our Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+ pages. This will be the best spot to find the most current events going on at IIAO.

EXCHANGE BUYERS BEWARE BY: JOHN D. DOAK, OKLAHOMA INSURANCE COMMISSIONER

After years of political disagreements and court battles, open enrollment on the new health insurance marketplace is finally upon us. While many Oklahomans, including me, are against the federal law, it is a reality for the time being. If you do choose to purchase health insurance from the exchange, it is extremely important for you to be educated about the process. One wrong choice could end up costing you thousands in unexpected costs.

2013 - FIRST HALF RESULTS

Profitability in the property/casualty insurance industry rebounded sharply in the first half of 2013. The improvement was propelled chiefly by growth in premiums, a reduction in catastrophe losses and favorable prior year reserve development. The effect: the industry combined ratio fell to 97.9 in the first half of 2013 from 101.9 in the first half of 2012-leading to an underwriting profit of $2.3 billion-much needed in an era of persistent, ultra-low interest rates.

RLI - JUST ASK

With frequent advancements in technology, and increasing usage of email, Facebook, and Twitter for marketing and sales purposes, we often forget one of the most effective sales and marketing tools of all, YOU!
Simply offering a Personal Umbrella to your insured can be the most effective way to increase your business. You might never know an insured's desire or need for an umbrella policy if you skip the simple step of asking. Start asking your customers today!
At the bare minimum, you will have reduced your E&O exposure by offering this very important product, and you may end up protecting your insured's future in the process. For questions, please contact Cindy Munden at 405-840-4426 or email [email protected].

BIG "I" MARKETS OFFERS CUSTOMIZED INSURANCE FOR FIRE AND WATER RESTORATION CONTRACTORS

There are 16,000 restoration firms in the US, most are insured by the members of the Big I. Unfortunately, many of these contractors have antiquated liability insurance programs in place.
As a direct result of Fungus/Mold/Bacteria exclusions in their General Liability insurance policies, more than 75% of fire and water damage restoration firms in the US have fundamentally flawed liability insurance in place. Many of these firms find it difficult to comply with insurance specifications in their contracts with insurance carriers, franchisors and TPA's.
Today it is virtually impossible to adequately insure a fire and water damage restoration firm simply with a Commercial General Liability policy.  ARMR.network through Big I markets makes it easy for agents to modernize the insurance programs on their cleaning and restoration clients.
For more information go to Big "I" Markets under Commercial Lines products category, specifically the Environmental Impairment-Pollution.
