Salinas, CA -- On May 31, the Salinas Fire Department will donate two fire engines to Quiroga, Michoacán, Mexico. Receiving the gift at Fire Station Number 1 will be officials from Quiroga and a Senator from the state of Michoacán. Members of the public and the media are invited to attend.

The Salinas Fire Department has replaced both with more modern units.
The fire engines will begin providing fire protection and life safety services in Quiroga on Nov. 3 of this year. They will serve the community well, as they can navigate the area's steep terrain and narrow streets.
Quiroga is a municipality whose seat is a town of the same name. It covers approximately 80 square miles and is home to about 25,000 residents.
