Police
No Tolerance Day 2017 - The National Safety Council observed April as Distracted Driving Awareness Month and Salinas Police Department designated April 20th as our zero tolerance day for drivers using their cell phones while driving.

When on your phone and behind the wheel, you are not focused on the road, which often results in crashes due to delayed braking times and not seeing traffic signals. Even when talking hands-free, drivers can miss seeing up to half of what's around them because they are engaged in a cell phone conversation. Statistics show that you are 23 times more likely to get into a crash while texting.
