I am Raising a Reader

Family Enrollment Event
 
This Raising a Reader program includes a digital component and is designed to keep families reading during the summer. Two groups will be starting shortly (see below for age guidelines).

Crime Lab Chemistry: Solving Mysteries with Chromatography
  
Child detectives will use paper chromatography to investigate pigment separation and separation of mixtures to solve the mystery of who stole Lucy the dinosaur from The Field Museum in Chicago.
 
Children ages 6 - 12 are welcome.

The Geronimo Stilton series is a favorite of early elementary school students. Humorous, written in a similar format as "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" with fun illustrations, these chapter books are as plentiful as they are accessible and easy to read. If your first, second or third grader hasn't discovered these early readers, come into the library and take a look.
