Salinas, CA -- The City of Salinas will host a free Small Business Seminar and Resource Expo on Wednesday, March 15 in the Salinas PAL Building. The theme will be "Strategies for Success in Today's Economy."
The program is designed as a one-stop-shop for local small businesses to get free assistance from local, state, and federal agencies.
The event is brought to small business owners by Fiona Ma, State Board of Equalization Board Member, 12th District Senator Anthony Cannella, 30th District Assemblymember Anna Caballero, Monterey County Assessor Stephen Vagnini, and Salinas Mayor Joe Gunter.
They will be joined by experts from the Franchise Tax Board, Internal Revenue Service, Employment Development Department, Small Business Administration, Salinas Chamber of Commerce, and others.
Topics will include:
- Basics of Sales and Use Tax
- Employee or Independent Contractor?
- Forms of Ownership
- Better Business through Better Records
- Marketing Your Business and Business Resources.
