Calvin and Hobbes by Bill Watterson
Smart, clever and expertly drawn, the comic strip follows the story of Calvin, trouble making and scholastically-impaired elementary school kid who carries around a stuffed tiger, Hobbes. To the viewer and to Calvin, he is real... but is he?
This is the first collection of the classic comic. Our review came from Bridgett Spicer, Head Squid, and maker of Squid Row Comics. Bridgett will give a workshop called "Think it, Plan it, Draw it" at Comic Con, Saturday, December 17, at 3:15 - 4:15 pm at Hartnell College.
Volunteer Spotlight
High School Volunteer Rosalba R. Saavedra
The most satisfying thing I have done to make my beloved community a better place is volunteering at the library in a weekly adult basic computer literacy class...
The opportunity I am given to volunteer in this class has inspired me greatly. I have discovered the correlation of education and how it impacts communities.
Rosalba is a high school student at Everett Alvarez. Those words were written for her University of California college application. She has volunteered in our Computer Literacy classes, Family Reading Circles, and Summer Reading. We wish her the very best as she prepares for college.
Rosalba is also Runner of the Year
