December 2, 2016

Greetings!

December is going to be a busy month at the library.  Between the Community Forum for El Gabilan Library, and Comic Con, we have a lot scheduled.  For teenagers preparing college applications, we have a College Workshop at Cesar Chavez Library that they won't want to miss.

Community Forums and Focus Groups

Last week, we hosted a focus group with teenagers at El Gabilan Library and asked them what they would like to see in a new library.

This Saturday, we're inviting you to join us for an afternoon of collaboration and planning as we begin the process of building a new library in North Salinas.  Now is the time to voice your opinions and make suggestions.
Please call (831) 758-7311 for more information.

Meet New Staff
Ernesto Lizaola,

Community Education Manager

Over the last 5 years, Ernesto Lizaola served as an Education Programs Manager for a non-profit transportation agency serving Santa Clara and San Mateo County residents.  His work involved managing youth and adult educational programming with schools, libraries, community centers, public agencies and corporate partners.

Ernesto grew up in Salinas, and attended Alisal High School and Hartnell College before earning his Bachelor's Degree from San Jose State and MBA in Organizational Leadership from National University.  He's very excited to join the library's managerial team, and is looking forward to learning more about the community's educational needs.
