Forget "to be, or not to be." The real question is "have you tried hoopla"? Hoopla's the place to stream music, binge on television shows, and browse an impressive collection of e-materials. If OverDrive is for books, hoopla is for those seeking movies, music, comics, and other streaming content. Listen to Michael Buble's new album "nobody but me," or watch Bryan Cranston in the film "The Infiltrator." All you need is a Salinas Public Library card.
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
This New York Times bestseller is from a Swedish author who writes about a man with "staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse," whose world changes after an affable couple, and their two chatty daughters, move in next door and accidentally flatten Ove's mailbox.
The book was made into a film by Director Hannes Holm, and will be available on DVD in December.
Please call or come into our library for a complete list of New York Times Bestsellers.
Introducing New Staff
Welcome Mila Rianto Technical Services Manager
We're very happy to have Mila Rianto join the managerial team at the Salinas Public Library. Mila has a Masters in Information & Library Science from the University of North Texas, and previously worked for a library system in Southern California where she had the opportunity to impact their literacy programs and services.
Mila was born in Jakarta, Indonesia and grew up reading books, and tinkering with computers. She learned English from watching Sesame Street, and loves to travel. She's a bit of a food connoisseur and will try anything once.
