Salinas requests applications for
Neighborhood Beautification Grant
Salinas, CA -- The City of Salinas is asking residents, groups, and organizations with neighborhood improvements projects to apply for a Neighborhood Beautification Grant by Oct. 20.
Those interested in applying should attend a grant information session on Oct. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Salinas Recreation Center, 320 Lincoln Ave.
Suggested activities include community gardens, tree planting, murals or other public art, and improvements to public facilities.
The Neighborhood Beautification Initiative is part of the City's Neighborhood Services Program. It is designed to engage residents in a project that will help promote healthier, safer, cleaner, and more attractive neighborhoods.
As part of the annual budget, the Salinas City Council approved spending $14,000 for Neighborhood Beautification Projects, to be allocated equally to each of the six Council Districts and the Mayor's office (so that each receives $2,000).
More information is also available by contacting Ana Ambriz, Neighborhood Services Coordinator, at (831) 758-7166 or anaa@ci.salinas.ca.us.
