Salinas to receive more than $10 million to improve roadways
Salinas, CA -- The City of Salinas has been awarded nearly $10.6 million in transportation grants. The funds will be used to improve roads in Salinas by making them safer for vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians.
Almost $7 million of the grant funds will be used as part of the Safe Routes to School traffic safety program. This program aims to increase the number of children walking and biking to school while reducing childhood obesity.
The grants will go to the City Council for review and approval on August 16.
