Salinas, CA -- Representatives of the Salinas Fire Department, the Monterey County Sheriff's Department Bomb Squad, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) will show the destruction caused by fireworks Monday at 11 a.m. at the County Yard at 855 East Laurel St.

The Bomb Squad and ATF agents will demonstrate a variety of explosive and incendiary devices.

Speakers at the event will highlight the fact that all fireworks are currently illegal in Salinas, that fireworks use carries heavy fines, and that the public will be able to enjoy a fireworks show at the Rodeo Grounds on July 4.

Attendees will include Salinas Mayor Joe Gunter, Fire Chief Ed Rodriguez, Fire Marshal Sam Klemek, Police Chief Kelly McMillin, ATF agents, and members of the Bomb Squad.
