City Staff Furloughs End Week of July 6
Salinas, CA -- Friday furloughs will come to an end for City of Salinas staff next week. Starting on July 6, City Hall and the Permit Center will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
As a cost-saving measure during the economic downturn, City Hall and the Permit Center have been closed on Fridays since staff granted a wage concession in July of 2009. Many employees have been working 36-hour weeks, generally by putting in 9-hour days Monday through Thursday.
