About Silk-Screen Printing:
Silk-screening is labor intensive. Each print is made by hand. The artwork is color-separated and converted into a separate transparency for each color. A chemical emulsion is applied to each screen and after it dries, a transparency for each color of the artwork is adhered and exposed to UV light, burning the image into the screen. It is cleaned, and ink is pressed through the exposed parts of the screen with a squeegee, leaving one color of the image on the paper. This step is repeated for each color, resulting in a rich print.
