A Thanksgiving Myracle!
Lauren Myracle, that is! The beloved children's and young adult writer is visiting the store on Thursday, November 12th at 4:00 p.m. We're crazy excited about this event. Lauren's books are witty, insightful - and absolutely adored by so many readers. Come along and make this big event even bigger! Lauren's Latest!
Lauren has written an incredible number of books, from chapter books to young adult novels.
Her latest is Upside-Down Magic, a book for middle grade readers that she wrote in collaboration with Sarah Mylnowski and Emily Jenkins. What if you had magical powers that didn't work as they should? For example, if you tried to turn into a kitten - or a dragon - and ended up as a dritten - a combination of the two? Or you tried to make fire, but it turned into ice instead? Or you wound up floating helplessly around the room? But there is a time when all these wonky magical skills, and the kids who wield them, will become very important... For more information on Upside-Down Magic, or Lauren's other books, come into the store, or pay a visit to her website. Comment on her blog and let her know how much you're looking forward to meeting her! We're thrilled to have Lauren visit!

Something a Little Different
Did you know that 50% of our customers read our newsletter on their phone or tablet? We've redesigned our newsletter to work better for that type of screen - and to look a little fresher as well. You'll also notice this newsletter is shorter than usual. That's because instead of sending out a newsletter once a month, we're going to keep you up to date by sending out more frequent communications about books and events. We'll also be using more video and links, plus we're setting up a brand new blog where we'll post detailed reviews. More information on that soon. We hope you like our updated communications - as we get into our groove over the next few weeks, feel free to let us know what you think - info@thebookies.com Please note that we'll be closed on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday, so our staff can spend time with their families. We'll re-open on Saturday, November 28th, with a huge author event for Small Business Saturday - details in our next update!
