Parent-Child Classes This spring's Parent-Child session with Cherry Short-Lee will begin Monday, April 7 and continue on Mondays through May 29 (with a break on the Monday of spring vacation). This is a perfect way for parents (and grandparents or caretakers) of children 18 - 36 months to meet one another, exchange parenting ideas, glean wisdom from an experienced Waldorf educator and mother, and enjoy their children's growth in good company. Registration deadline is Monday, March 31.

Spring Concert
Join us on Tuesday, April 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the Rockport Opera House for Ashwood's annual Spring Concert! Grades 3-4, 5, 6 and 7 will be performing numbers from their vocal and string ensembles, and there will be some fun surprises as well. Everyone is invited! It's free! See you there!

Coach: Jeremy Clough, Ashwood Waldorf School movement and class teacher Who: Any students in the midcoast community in Grades 4-8. Bring your friends! This is club is coed, and no experience is needed. You will learn all the skills and rules you need to play. Your skills are sure to improve, but the main goal is to have fun. When: Monday and Wednesday from 3:15-4:30 p.m. * May 5-June 4 (9 sessions; no practice on May 26). Students may sign up for two days or one day per week. Where: We will meet at Ashwood Waldorf School, 180 Park Street, Rockport, at 3:15 and walk to the Marge Jones Recreation Fields on Rte 90. We will be playing on the Babe Ruth Field. Pick up is at the recreation fields at 4:30 p.m. Cost: $30 per student Sign up information: Please call (207-236-8021) or email Elizabeth Larrow if your child would like to join the club. Students will need to bring running shoes or cleats, a snack, water bottle, and appropriate clothing for the weather.

Jamie Oshima and Chloe Isis Concerts Ashwood alumni Jamie Oshima and Chloe Isis will be making music in two upcoming performances: Whitefield on Friday, April 11 at Sheepscot General Store, and Camden, Saturday, April 12 at John Street Methodist Church. Jamie and Chloe will be singing, playing guitar, piano, bass and drums, sometimes all at once! They will be the featured artists on WERU the week of April 7, you can hear them at 7:45 a.m. each day. Both concerts start at 7:00 p.m. Adults $10.00, students $6.00, and small children $2.00.Portions of the proceeds benefit "Making Change."

It's been a little over a week since the culmination of our GLOW auction and event and many of us are still basking in the "after-GLOW." Our wonderful time together soaking up the incredible entertainment, excellent food, and our happy selves is punctuated by also meeting and exceeding our fiscal goal of $25,000 (net). Pysanky WorkshopTuesday April 15, 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. At Rosewood. For Grades 3 - 7 and their parents. Cost ~ $10 individual; $15 for a family of 2; $20 for families with more ~ materials included. Instructor ~ Lesia Sochor. Lesia has taught Ukrainian egg decorating (Pysanky) for many years throughout Maine. Lesia is of Ukrainian heritage and brings the folklore of the craft as well as the technique and stories from her family.

ARTicipation! is the Center for Maine Contemporary Art's annual pre-season community celebration of student art from the Five Town Community School District and local private and preschools. The exhibition of student art is open from 1 - 5 p.m., Thursday through Sunday, April 12 - April 27. Admission is free. Opening Celebration: Sunday, April 12, 1 - 5pm.
