Education: Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication/Journalism from UW-Milwaukee
Job Duties: "I produce the library newsletter entitled the News including copywriting, layout, and photography. I have had many job duties over the years at the library so I fill in as a substitute whenever needed. I am a freelance nonfiction writer outside of my library work and had a World War I book published in 2014. Recently, I have written several food stories for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel."
Favorite Thing To Do At Work: "I love sending our nearly 1,400 subscribers an attractive, informative newsletter that helps them take advantage of all the Delafield Public Library has to offer."
The One Book You Have Reread The Most: "It's a three-way tie between Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell, The Last Of The Mohicans by James Fenimore Cooper, and To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee . . . all very American books."
Personal Info You Want To Share: "I am a married mom of two grown (and tall) sons, although my new and ridiculously-cute beagle takes up a good chunk of my time lately. I also volunteer at my church library."
Favorite Quote Or Saying: One thing I learned there, I learned to pray and I learned
every day is a bonus

Soap Making With Shannon
10:00 to 11:30 Tuesday, July 12
Make your own soap at the library in this free class taught by Shannon Francis, founder of Resiliency Training. Shannon is an outdoor educator, naturalist, world traveler, and former trainer for the Peace Corps. She believes everything we put on our skin should be 100% natural. Use tea, water, goat's milk, lye, herbs, and oils to make a few scented soap bars to take home. Open to ages 55 and above; part of our monthly Senior Moments. Please register at the library website under Programs, or call the library at 262-646-6230.
