Best Of Luck In Retirement To

Pat Plamann
pplamann@ci.delafield.wi.us
After 22 years at the Delafield Public Library, join us in wishing Patricia Plamann all the best in her well-deserved retirement. Pat began placing book orders in 1994 and expanded her duties to become the Business & Acquisitions Manager. Her last day will be Thursday, June 30.
"The technology has mushroomed in the 22 years I have worked here. I remember when some thought libraries would be obsolete when books could be read online. Now, the library is a community center with a seemingly endless list of services we provide to people," she said.
Pat added she holds many colorful memories including the old library (when it was located above the police department) and watching the new police hires outside holding towels up to their faces after being pepper sprayed during training. "It made us appreciate what our police go through to join the force!" she said. Another memory included when Wisconsin author Michael Perry decided to drop in a book club meeting discussing his book Population 485 to everyone's delight.
For the past few months, Pat has been training her replacement, Cassidy. Pat looks forward to coming to the library as a patron and being able to linger and browse. She also plans to spend more time with her family and friends, garden, travel, and, of course, read.
Pat, thank you for your many years of hard work . . . all done with a beautiful smiling face. See you around the library.
