Terry's Library Staff Pick:

Sum It Up by Pat Summitt

Terry Zignego

My love for college basketball prompted me to read this memoir by Pat Summitt, coach of the University of Tennessee Lady Vols for four decades. A country girl from Tennessee, Pat grew up playing basketball with her brothers and working the tobacco fields. After winning an Olympic medal, she was hired at age 22 to coach the Lady Vols and later went on to set all-time records for victories. Not a story of basketball minutia, this book is one about an extraordinary coach, the players she loved, and her fight against early onset Alzheimer's disease. Five stars for this book.
