Marcy's Library Staff Pick:

A House In The Sky:  A Memoir

Marcy With Violin

true story - Amanda Lindhout escaped a violent childhood by reading National Geographic and eventually traveled to exotic places, some war-ridden. In 2008, she was abducted in Somalia by a dangerous group of masked men and held hostage for over a year. Amanda is subject to "wife lessons" and cruel customs. When most desperate, she visits "a house in the sky" away from torture and captivity, displaying courage and hope. This story by Lindhout and Sara Corbett is hard to put down.
